Global Play

World Jungle's award winning Global Play programme brings together some of the best traditional games from around the world delivered by artists and playworkers from Ghana, Jamaica, Tanzania, Guyana, Argentina, Pakistan and England. Key elements include:

  • Sharing traditional games from around the world including Jamaica, Somalia, Argentina, Ghana, Pakistan and more.
  • Global Play sessions for children, delivered in parks, schools and play settings.
  • Staff Training for Teachers, Early Years, Play Workers and Youth Workers in sharing games from around the world.
  • Equality & Diversity training for staff.

We have delivered Global Play sessions in a variety of settings including schools, after school clubs and holiday play schemes, for play and youth projects, at youth and play conferences and events, and as part of 'Play Days', children's festivals and multi-cultural events. They have been used to support 'Global Focus' weeks, International Days, International Education Week, Black History Month and more..

Global Play workshops for children
  • Playful, energetic and informative sessions, involving music, dance and games.
  • Workshops are supported by the World Jungle Global Play Toolkit, with a DVD of songs so you can play the games afterwards.
  • Sessions can be anything from one hour, half a day, full day or over a week.
Staff Training

We have delivered training to playworkers, youth workers, teachers and early years workers including for Barnardos, Devon County Council, Gloucestershire Youth Services, Somerset Play Partnership and South West Play. Training programmes include:

  • Staff Training for teachers, early years, play workers and youth workers in Games from Around the World.

  • Equality & Diversity Made Fun - designed for teaching staff, childcare, youth and play workers who want to help children and young people to have the opportunity to explore cultural diversity in fun and exciting ways. Download details

Global Play Days

With our team of cultural artists, World Jungle can organise, manage and deliver the whole event or bring along specialist activities to support your existing event themed around play, music, dance and art from around the world.

World Jungle Global Play Toolkit
  • A comprehensive resource book and DVD containing ideas, guidance and information to support global play activities for children in a variety of settings. Excellent for teachers, play and youth workers.
  • Contains games from around the world, background information on countries and a DVD highlighting songs, rhythms and how to play games, as well as interviews with our Global Play Team.
  • Written and published by World Jungle 2010.
  • Cost: £40 (plus £2.50 postage/packing)
