'Learn some global games with World Jungle!' Half-day workshop for playworkers lead by Celestine, Sam Mbogo, Ripton Lindsay and Adolf Tetteh.

Sharing Games
. Demonstrations of childhood games/songs from Ghana, Tanzania and Jamaica.

  • 'ROCK N STONE' - Jamaica (1.18): Ripton Lindsay shows the version of this game (based around passing a stone) as played in Jamaica.
  • 'ROCK N STONE' - Ghana (0.32): Adolf Tetteh demonstrates a very similar game as played in Ghana.
  • 'ROCK N STONE' - Tanzania (0.51): Sam Mbogo demonstrates another very similar game as played in Tanzania.
  • 'ZAMA ZAMA' - Tanzania (4.24): Sam Mbogo demonstrates 'Zama Zama' from Tanzania.
    Solo: "Zama Zama" (x3)
    Chorus: "Le le le le le Zama" (x3)
    Solo: "A aaa ONE" [or however many]
    Chorus: "One - le le le le le Zama"
  • 'KOFI SAY' - Ghana (0.34): Adolf Tetteh from Ghana demonstrates a game very similar to 'Simon Says'.
  • KIO (means 'glass' as in 'mirror') - Tanzania (5.18): Sam Mbogo demonstrates a game similar to 'Oranges and Lemons' from Tanzania. Two players make an arch and each decides on a piece of fruit they will be. Someone has broken a mirror. As the line of children go under the arch, one is caught at a time and asked to whisper which piece of fruit. They then stand behind that person. The game ends in a Tug o War to decide the winning team.
